I think he's all done.  I decided to go mono tone in a neutral grey that can be accented to fit in with any decor.  The button detail and the wood touches are just enough detail to let him stand out in any setting.

The set is all finished and looking happy.  These are lovely chairs to work with but boy do they take some effort.  I worked it out that each chair probably took nearly 5 hours to restore.  They really have to be a labor of love or you just wouldn't do it.  I think all restorers have to be a little crazy, either that or it's all the fumes & sawdust.

Sweet little drawers

Picked up this sweet set of drawers this week.  They had such a lovely face, I felt a little sorry for it.  All solid wood meant there wasn't anything a little TLC and elbow grease couldn't fix.

60's/70's Sideboard

Honestly how many times can I change my mind?  I did want to keep this, but & it's a big but, anyone that has collected from me will know that space here is at a premium.  I really have no idea why this one endeared itself so much. There is just something about it.

Cute Wire Frame Chair

I decided to go with a super chunky fabric that I had.  It really brings out the frame structure and with a metallic thread running through it it visually plays against the metal frame.  It's a fab simple chair with just enough design detail to make it really interesting. Super sweet.

My shoulder feels like it is about to fall off but boy is it worth it.  I knew the Esquire Teal fabric would pop the mahogany frames but even I am impressed.  It sits so well together.  All the new webbing work has brought back the chairs comfort.  I couldn't be happier.

I ended up doing a few more tweaks today, and grabbed a little brighter weather to take some more pics. Gonna be hard to see this one go.

I'm still in two minds about this one.  I've had this suite for a couple of years and I love it.  it's lines, it's use of materials and it's ridiculous comfort.  I'll be sad to see this one go.

I've had this Fler dining suite for a few months now and it has been a lovely addition to the house but with the family coming to visit in numbers something a little larger is needed. Sadly she has to move on to a new home.

The new seat frame has been installed and all the springs reset.  I decided to go with a fab green material from Warwick.  It's called Ardo Citron and really pops against the rich tones of the Mahogany.  It all slipped back together beautifully and once again looks as it should.

She's all done and looks great.   The clean and polish brought the coating back to a nice finish and the new clothes make her ready for another forty years.

All done and looking fantastic.  Just as I hoped the set came together beautifully in the end.  The two tone helps highlight the design shapes.  I couldn't be happier.

This set look sleek and simple in it's new clothes.  The frames got their clean and rub down.  The deep grey will sit in just about any existing decor palette with some accenting cushions or throw. Form & function, it's what it's all about.

All done.  This Parker is back to it's former quality and ready for life #2.  New cane, new webbing, new foam, new clothes but all the original lines and unmistakable style of Parker.

Solid Mahogany boardroom/office chairs

After a little love they came up beautifully.  The new spring green covers really offsets the warm tone of the mahogany frames.

Funky 50's fireside chairs

Both chairs came up beautifully,  The contrast between the blond oak detailing and the new rich black covers worked exactly as I hoped.  A striking pair again, exactly as it should be.

Brazilian Walnut Sideboard.

I picked up this lovely 1963 Brazilian Walnut (Imbuia) sideboard a little while ago.  I loved the shape, but couldn't stand nor understand the handles and the keyway escutcheons it had.  Not too uprising then to find that these were not the original handles and that at some point (probably during the 80's) the sideboard had been 'pimped'.

Just picked up these lovely little oak finish bookcases by Hopewells of Nottingham.  They need a little love with loose joint, sad old coating marked by their years of use.  Two of the clever little shelf support are broken so those will need to be repaired or replaced.  These are going to look super cute when they are done.

The guys picked the Solar Weave chocolate:  With a nice chunky weave it's one of the fabrics that I love using on my sets.  It sits well against the mahogany and presents beautifully.  I have used the orange version on my own set

She's all done, I had waited such a long time to work with one of these so it was a little self indulgent to take so much time with it, but I loved (almost) every second.  What a fab design.  Each little angle, each little change of material where wood meets fabric, where fabric meets leather, where leather meets wood. Time Out....

Anyone waiting to see the upcoming items...There has been a bit of a delay.  I decided to take a little time out to sort out various jobs I have been tripping over for the last few months... all those little bits & piece you think "I'll get to that tomorrow".  Well, tomorrow arrived.  Hoping to get back on schedule this week.  PS those cute little Parkers I picked up, may have been joined by a 3 seat couch. Watch this (slowly moving) space.

Vono Recliner

All done, I took the old seat cushion apart and replaced the worn section with some fabric that had a complimentary tone and weave size.  It is such a little cracker and has held itself together so well over the last fifty years I thought it only fair to treat it will the lightest hand.

Danske Møbler rocking chairs

The chairs are complete and I'm loving their new look. The subtle two tone, the sharp finish to the upholstery design, the fabric I found for the cushions, the wood bases all spic and span. These certainly are a fine pair, and the photos speak for themselves except for how comfortable they are.

I loved the shape of this daybed the moment I saw it.  Very simple but very elegant.  I liked the angles particularly from the front where the up sweep of the seat meets the front legs.

Well hello ladies:  You can almost hear them have a little sigh of relief as once again they are getting the admiration they are used to.  The covers came together well and I love the contrast of the off white against the dark frames. Soft and comfy with the Fler spring system and the new spring guards (labels transferred).  They are once again ready to take the limelight.

Finally a decision was made. I would keep the original colour scheme, but I decided to recover in one of my favorite fabrics instead of vinyl.  After being recovered the chairs went back together like a dream. and all four are once again ready for some seriously good dinners.  The table came up well with the oil and together they make a very neat (& comfortable) dining solution for the space conscious.

I picked up this classic Otto Larsen coffee table the other day.  I had it in the lounge with me for a while so I could decide what I wanted to do with it.  It needs a small repair to one of the rungs in the magazine rack.

She's finished, and looking fab.  It was so exciting getting the squabs back from the upholsterers and just as I hoped they sit brilliantly against the dark tones of the afromosia wood frame.  She is definitely no shrinking violet.  Sorely want to keep her, but I am running out of space.  I have my Tessa Bentwood and my Don.  I can't keep a third...

After debating was over I chose a lovely dark grey fabric by Textilia, Range : Seddon, Colour : Cave.  A lovely deep grey this allows it to sit well against most other tones.  The frames were finally finished and back together.

I got this little set of drawers the other day.  They were well used and looking a little sad and neglected, I on the other hand was delighted.  I know these sets, being solid wood construction there is not much that a lot of elbow grease and sandpaper can't cure.
