I have always had a little weakness for this design by F Lowen for Fler. Made by Fler in Australia and on license to Broadhead bros in NZ. The sculptural frames are instantly recognisable and have remained an iconic sought after design from the these masters of Antipodean mid century design.
They got the full treatment with the wood getting gently stripped back to reveal the honey tones of the Maple grain. The internal steel frame and original spring system was in great condition and needed nothing more than a clean I sent these out for a professional reupholster. The foam in the seat backs had seen better day so new foam was shaped and fitted. They have been covered in a lovely soft cream heavy textured fabric by Warwick. The covers are fully removable for cleaning. The looks are one thing but these are also well known as being one of the most comfortable designs from this era.
